The short version

Sacha is a visual storyteller who loves to work in hard to reach places, enjoying the challenge of harsh elements and fleeting opportunities to capture the moment. His formal education in Nature Conservation keeps him outdoors, whether it is leaning out of a helicopter, documenting wildlife or submerged under the waves, Sacha is fuelled by his passion to tell his story of the natural world using photographs.

The long version

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, Sacha studied Nature Conservation at the Cape Peninsula University of Technology. His passion for the ocean motivated a career in professional bodyboarding, chasing waves and competition around the world, ultimately winning a bodyboarding world title in 2012. During his time competing, Sacha was documenting his extensive travels, honing his photographic skills and ultimately was appointed the Photographic Media Manager for the International Bodyboarding Association. Having enjoyed an accomplished career as an athlete, Sacha focused his attention to where it all began, on the Natural World and Photography. Having worked in production as a photographic, digital and lighting assistant for several years, the foundation of travel and documentary narration naturally intertwined with the refined approach to advertising content. Today, his experience, reportage style of shooting and in depth understanding of the production process has grabbed the attention of brands like adidas, Hurley, Gore-Tex, Red Bull, Sealand Gear, FALKE, Nixon and Cape Union Mart to produce bona fide stories and globally used imagery. Simultaneously, Sacha is working with Black Bean Productions across the African continent, creating conservation-minded films and stories, as well as hosting bespoke safaris across the African continent.

Today I find peace and joy while immersed, camera in hand, always moving and always searching for a unique image to unfold and capture.
